When we tell our friends we LOVE our contractor, they roll their eyes and tell us their horror stories. We are so incredibly pleased and lucky to have found Otto and Dream Home Builders and Remodelers. Honestly. We were new to the area. We knew no one. No ability to get recommendations for the major home and garage project we had planned.  So we Googled. Insane right? Somehow Otto’s Dream Builders site stood out. Once we met Otto we knew he was the right contractor for us. Straight forward, enthusiastic and professional. He’s just a real and nice guy. We didn’t get any other bids. Insane right? We just went with our gut. And was our gut right! Otto and Dream Builders transformed our home. 1) Care taken as we did architectural drawings. Loved his recommended architect! 2) Easy and thorough estimate process. 3) Set expectations well. 4) Started when he said he would start. 5) His subs showed up when he said they would and they were all top notch. Felt safe and confident when we had 10 trucks in my driveway and people in my home. 6) His oversite was always there. 7) He responded to every call and every email. 8) Handled all permits and inspections. 9) The work was exceptional and exactly what we wanted. 10) He made our dream come true. - He designed and built a garage with a gorgeous family room above it. - Painted and roofed the entire exterior of home and new garage. - Renovated our dilapidated shed. - Concrete and rock work. We used Dream Home Builders (Otto) to build a 2 stall detatched garage with a mother-in-law suite (full studio apartment) above it.  We live in the Myers Park area of Charlotte.  Their team was great in helping make our ideas a reality on the project.  We had a "rough vision" but Otto helped us at every step along the way with helpful suggestions and recommendations.  He was never pushy, but let us know what the market trends and reasoning behind these suggestions were.  We are preparing to remodel a bathroom in our house soon and have already tapped Dream Home Builders to do that project as well.  The sign of a great builder is the willingness to use them again! We recently decided to renovate our kitchen in Matthews North Carolina. We cook every day and it is the central gathering place in our home. After doing research and interviews, we chose Dream Home Builders for the project. Otto came to our home to assess the project. Rather than tell us what we should do, he carefully listened to understand what we wanted. We were impressed that he brought all of the craftsman that would be involved in the project to our home on a single day to discuss and coordinate who would do what when. Once the project began, it flowed smoothly with no hiccups. With Otto‘s help, we chose an interior designer to help us select specific materials for the project. She worked well with Otto to see that our vision became reality. Our expectations were met and exceeded with regard to communication, quality workmanship, budget, smooth scheduling and finished product. Otto and his team with Dream Home Builders  & Remodelers are one of the rare finds. I’m the daughter of a builder (not located in the same city) and am very picky about finding a true craftsman with quality work and attention to detail. Otto met the requirement! They did about 5 projects total for us, see below for more: -Converted our hot back patio into a beautiful covered and screened porch with a stone gas log fireplace, ceiling fans, and recessed lighting. We now enjoy our outside space versus baking in the summer sun! This including crown molding details both inside and outside that matched our current aesthetic -Created a ‘moms attic’ in our garage for storage and re-insulated our garage ceiling for better temperature control in our finished room above the garage -Converted our downstairs half bath into a guest bath with custom tile shower -Created and installed a 14’ custom shaker desk unit for 2 (hybrid work) and a shaker desk and window bench for our daughters room -Replaced our old single front door and transoms with a beautiful custom oversized double mahogany front door with Flemish glass. They also turned some circa 2000 round structural columns into square columns with trim work that matched the style of our home And lastly, they were CLEAN! This is a HUGE benefit if you are in the market for a builder. Every day his crews tidied up after themselves and never left a mess.
